“ Lord, You are already bringing Your people to our destiny.”
Amen and amen! As is often the joyous case, CQOD shows more of the best Christian unity quotations than anywhere else on the Internet!
Jesus truly said our eternal destiny begins now on earth, and our destiny here is for us now to be spiritually together as one, in Him and the Father now in heaven, with Jesus and the Father now in us on earth doing and saying our words and deeds, the same as Jesus was in the Father in heaven when Jesus was a man here on earth, doing the Father’s deeds and saying the Father’s words, such as “where I am”, while at the same time, He was also spiritually in His Father in heaven, simultaneously in one Spirit in both places.
And when Jesus was a man here in both places, heaven and earth, God was one Spirit in both the Father in heaven and the Son on earth, with His life in this world laid down in the one Spirit of the One, Good Shepherd, who lays down His life in this world to gather in one flock all of God’s repentant sheep who will recognize that One, Good Shepherd’s voice, calling out to them today from the body of Christ that is that one flock, to unite with us all who have begun to show the world we are agreed in at least the blood of One Lamb, in responding to the same, simple gospel message of “repentance and forgiveness of sins” Jesus said would always be preached, and therefor believed, in order for any and all of us to be “in His name”.
“and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” (Lu 24:47 NivUS)
“For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” (Mt 6:14 NivUS)
At the time when Jesus said it, “where I am”, to Jesus, meant in one Spirit with the Father in this life, which is also our destiny here, the destiny of all repentant, mutually loving and forgiving believers in all Christian denominations, while in this life as well, including Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestants.
“Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.” (Joh 14:10 NivUS)
“20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."” (Joh 14:20-21 NivUS)
The Holy Spirit seems to saying In these words of Jesus, that the most important place for us to start agreeing together as such ‘whoevers’, in all Christian denominations and Christian faith groups, all headed for the same destiny in this life as one, as Jesus the man, and the Father were one Spirit in this life, would be for each of us to make sure in our own hearts, each of us has Jesus’ commands and obeys them the way Jesus said to obey them, starting with the two most important commands of the old law Jesus fulfilled with His own commands.
